ATLANTA- Sophomore Hannes Burmeister earned NSCAA All-Southeast Region Second-Team honors, the NSCAA announced Thursday. Burmeister was one five student-athletes to represent the Sun Belt and the only athlete to represent Georgia State.

The Bentwisch, Germany native led GSU in goals this season with 11. Burmeister also led the Sun Belt and ranked 19th in the nation in goals.

The sophomore forward scored three hat tricks early in the season to help lead the Panthers to a 14-8 season and a successful Sun Belt Tournament campaign. Burmeister scored multiple goals in three matches, as well as two game-winners.

“Hannes had a remarkable year and is very deserving of all his post season awards,” head coach Brett Surrency said. “We are quite proud of all his accomplishments this year.”

Hannes was named to the All-Sun Belt First Team and earned Offensive Player of the Year and Player of the Year honors. He was also named to the Sun Belt All-Tournament Team for his post-season efforts.
