* LaPorscha Wells was named a USTFCCCA All-American with a fifth-place finish in the weight throw Saturday at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
* The Panthers also kicked off the outdoor season Saturday at the Gamecock Quad Invite.

ATLANTA - LaPorscha Wells earned USTFCCCA All-American status Saturday at the NCAA Indoor Championships and the rest of the Panthers kicked off the outdoor season with the Gamecock Quad Invite.
Wells finished fifth in the weight throw at the 2017 NCAA Indoor Championships in College Station, Texas with a distance of 21.21m, her second longest throw of the indoor season and second longest in school history. Wells is the first female All-American track and field athlete at Georgia State.
The remainder of Georgia State’s track and field team was in Alabama Saturday for the first outdoor event of the season, the JSU Gamecock Quad Invite. The Panthers finished second out of four D-I teams competing. Below are highlights from the meet.
