ATLANTA- The No. 35 Georgia State men’s tennis team will head to Conway, S.C. to face Sun Belt foe Coastal Carolina in the first of three spring break matches this week.
The Panthers are 9-6 overall (1-1 SBC) this season and have won three of their last four matches, including wins over UAB and ETSU at the ETSU Shootout.
GSU is one a one-match win-streak, defeating Middle Tennessee 6-1 to improve to 2-1 at home. Junior Sebastian Acuna clinched the match over the Blue Raiders, leading the team with two-match clinching points this season.
The team is led by senior Zackery Kennedy, who is 8-6 overall and 6-5 at the No. 1 spot in singles play. Andrei Andrukhou and Jack MacFarlane are also among the team’s leaders, with each student-athlete posting seven wins.
The Chanticleers are 6-6 overall this season, with just one win over a Sun Belt school. The team is on a two-match win-streak, and is just over .500 at home with a 4-3 record at The Stevens Tennis Complex.
