ATLANTA - Georgia State's track and field team competes Friday in the first of three meets in Atlanta this season. The Panthers will be at Georgia Tech Friday for the Yellow Jacket Invitational.
Georgia State opened the outdoor season last weekend at the JSU Gamecock Invitational and finished second among the Division-I schools. This week, the Panthers will be competing against 11 other schools. Belmont, Florida State, Franklin Pierce, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Mercer, Middle Tennessee State, Pittsburgh, UNC-Asheville, and Vanderbilt will all be competing at the meet.
The Yellow Jacket Invitational is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. with the last event scheduled for 7:20 p.m. The George C. Griffin Track is located beside the McCamish Pavilion at Fowler Street and 10th Street.
This is the first of three meets in Atlanta that Georgia State will be taking part in. The Panthers will compete in the Emory Classic next weekend followed by the Georgia Tech Invite on April 21 and 22.
