ATLANTA- The No. 44 Georgia State men’s tennis team will head to Wilmington, N.C. for the final two of three spring break matches this weekend. GSU will face Charlotte on March 17 before facing host UNC Wilmington on March 18.
The Panthers are 10-6 overall (2-1 SBC) this season, and are on a two-match winning-streak following wins against Middle Tennessee and conference opponent Coastal Carolina. The team has won four of its last five matches, earning 6-1 victories in the last two matches.
The team is led behind Sebastian Acuna at the No. 5 spot and Zackery Kennedy at the No. 1 spot. Both student-athletes have nine singles wins, with Acuna on a five-match win-streak and Kennedy on a three-match win-streak.
The 49ers are 9-6 this season and are riding on a four-match win-streak. Charlotte is 3-5 away, and 4-1 at neutral sites.
UNC Wilmington is 6-3 and on a one-match win-streak. The Seahawks faced Coastal Carolina and earned a 4-3 victory in February, while the Panthers defeated Coastal Carolina 6-1. The team is 4-0 at home.
The Panthers will face Charlotte on Friday at 10 a.m. and UNC Wilmington at 2 p.m. at the UNCW Tennis Courts.
