What you need to know:

* Georgia State took care of business in the first two matches of the Battle on the Bayou in Baton Rouge, La. The Panthers (18-11, 6-4) ousted UL Monroe 3-2 and Spring Hill College 4-1 behind solid performances in the No. 1 and No. 2 flights.

* Chelsea Ross and Delaney Rohan improved to a 19-9 record to carry Georgia State to the two victories.

* Head coach Beth Van Fleet and the Panthers are back on the sand tomorrow against TAMU Kingsville at 10 a.m. and host LSU at 3 p.m.


BATON ROUGE, La. – No. 10 Georgia State got off to a hot start in the Battle on the Bayou Friday afternoon. The Panthers (18-11, 6-4) racked up wins against UL Monroe and Spring Hill College at LSU's Beach Volleyball Complex. 

Pairs Ross and Rohan turned in solid performance to help lead Georgia State to the victories, as did Jessica Fourspring and Haley Pa'akaula with a victory over Spring Hill in the second leg of the doubleheader.

GSU is now a combined 8-1 all-time versus the Warhawks and the Badgers.

The Panthers will hit the sand tomorrow to finish off the regular season in Baton Rouge. The team takes on TAMU Kingsville at 10 a.m. and host LSU at 3 p.m. GSU will look to bounce back from a 3-2 home loss at the hands of the Tigers on April 1st.
