HERMOSA BEACH, Calif. – Delaney Rohan and Chelsea Ross split a pair of matches to kick off the USAV Beach Collegiate Championships Thursday afternoon.

The Panthers' No. 1 pair represented Georgia State well by overpowering the defending National Champion USC Trojans' Jenna Bolton and Jo Kremer 21-13, 21-13 in the first match of the day.

In the second dual match, Rohan and Ross fought hard and took the first set, but fell 21-18, 16-21 and 19-21 to Pepperdine's Corinne Quiggle and Brittany Howard.

The senior and graduate conclude pool play tomorrow at 12:40 p.m. ET versus the South Carolina Gamecock's Adrianna Culbert and Katie Smith. With a win, the tandem would likely advance to the single elimination stage tomorrow afternoon.
