ATLANTA – With all eight members of the Georgia State women's golf team earning academic honors, the Panthers finished the spring with a 3.79 GPA, second-highest among all female sports during the semester.

Senior Solene Le Coz, junior Yasemin Sari and redshirt-sophomore Emily Royer all earned President's List honors for a GPA of 4.0 or higher.

Sophomore Jemima Gregson and freshman Grace Choi each earned Dean's List honors for a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Senior Jooeun Bae, junior Paula Zabarte and freshman Harmanprit Kaur each garnered Athletic Director's Honor Roll for maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Le Coz and Bae each graduated this week and have been among the top Panthers all-time academically.

Entering the spring, the squad has a cumulative GPA of 3.66, second-highest among all female sports.

The Georgia State Department of Athletics shattered all previous records with a 3.30 grade-point average for the spring semester and 227 student-athletes earning academic honors.


The 3.30 GPA topped the previous semester record of 3.18 set last spring. The outstanding semester gives the athletic department a GPA of 3.22 for the 2016-17 academic year. The combined cumulative GPA for all student-athletes now sits at 3.25, also an all-time high.


A record 51 student-athletes earned President's List recognition, Georgia State's highest academic distinction signifying a semester GPA of 4.0 or higher. Rhett Harper of the baseball team and women's golfer Solene Le Coz were the top individuals, each with a 4.30 semester GPA - straight A-plusses.


Eighty-seven individuals achieved Dean's List status with a semester GPA of 3.5-3.99, also a high for the department, and another 89 student-athletes made the Athletic Director's Honor Roll with a 3.0 or higher.

Georgia State will return to the course in September with a pair of signed newcomers and six returning golfers. The Panthers finished second at the Sun Belt Conference Championship this year.
