LEXINGTON, Ky. - Alysiah Whittaker will join teammate LaPorscha Wells at the NCAA Finals in Oregon after a sixth-place finish in the shot put at the NCAA East Regionals in Lexington, Ky.

Whittaker finished sixth with a throw of 16.74m in the shot put on Saturday. With the top-12 competitor advancing to Eugene, Whittaker became just the second thrower in GSU history to make it to the NCAA Finals. Wells was the first GSU thrower to accomplish the feat as she placed third in the hammer throw on Thursday.

The NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be hosted at Oregon in Eugene June 7-10 on ESPN.

Whittaker holds the GSU school record in shot put with a distance of 16.83m.
