* Originally scheduled to be a three-day tournament, the teams played 36 holes on Monday to wrap up the event before inclement weather reached the South Florida area.


LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. – Led by a tie for sixth-place from sophomore Harmanprit Kaur, the Georgia State women’s golf team finished 12th on Monday at the 40th annual FIU Pat Bradley Classic at Lakewood Ranch Golf Club.

The Panthers shot rounds of 305 and 306 on Monday to finish the 54-hole event at 51-over par. The event was originally scheduled to be played over three days but was changed to a two-day event with inclement weather expected for Tuesday.

Kaur shot rounds of 70 and 72 on Monday to finish at 3-over par. She earned the Panthers best individual finish of the fall with one event left starting later this week.

“Harmanprit is playing some really great golf right now,” head coach Cathy Mant said. “She led us all week and is building a lot of confidence right now.

“As a team, we did not have the result we wanted this week. We are struggling with some things right now, especially when it comes to finishing rounds. Hopefully, we can finish the fall in strong fashion this weekend.”

Freshman Chloe Howard finished with rounds of 76 and 80 on Monday to tie for 40th at 14-over par. Junior Emily Royer tied for 48th at 16-over par following rounds of 77 and 78 on Monday.

Sophomore Grace Choi finished in a tie for 55th at 18-over par, shooting 82 and 76 on the final day of competition. Junior Jemima Gregson rounded out the line-up by shooting 85 and 82 on Monday to tie for 72nd at 29-over par.

Shooting even par over the final 36 holes, Southern Miss ran away with the team title by finishing at 9-over par. Jacksonville came in second-place at 22-over par, with host FIU placing third at 29-over par. South Florida came in fourth at 30-over par, with Florida Gulf Coast coming in fifth at 31-over par.

Wyoming’s Gabrielle Gibson earned low medalist honors after back-to-back rounds of 70 on Monday to finish at 5-under par. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi’s Autumn Bynum finished in second place at even par. Jacksonville’s Michelle Forsland, UMKC’s Cynthia Diaz and Southern Miss’ Julie Baker tied for third at 2-over par.

Georgia State will close out the fall season at the Ladies Fall Classic hosted by Louisville at Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek beginning Friday.
