ATLANTA – With nine of 10 members of the Georgia State women’s golf team earning academic honors, the Panthers finished the fall with a 3.63 GPA, third-highest among all female sports during the semester.

In her first semester as a member of the women’s golf team, sophomore Lexie Newhouse earned President’s List honors for a GPA of 4.0 or higher.

Grace Choi, Petra Duran, Jemima Gregson, Harmanprit Kaur, Emily Royer, Yasemin Sari and Nikki Wozniak each earned Dean’s List honors for a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Freshman Chloe Howard rounded out the group by earning Athletic Director’s Honor Roll recognition for a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

“We take great pride in having one of the top grade point averages in the department each semester,” head coach Cathy Mant said. “Our young ladies stepped up in the classroom once again and it was great to see nine of them earn academic honors.”

Georgia State student-athletes achieved a 3.16-grade point average for the fall 2017 semester, with 222 individuals earning academic honors.

The 3.16-grade point average marks the 19th consecutive semester, dating back to 2008, that the Panthers have maintained a GPA (semester or cumulative) of 3.0 or higher.

Georgia State will return to the course Feb. 18-19, for the Amelia Island Collegiate hosted by Jacksonville in Amelia Island, Fla.
