ATLANTA- No. 11 Georgia State beach volleyball will be at the GSU Beach Volleyball Complex for their first home action of the 2018 season. GSU will face a pair of non-conference foes in Austin Peay and Jacksonville State.
“We are very excited for Tuesday’s duals”, said coach Beth Van Fleet. “We love the opportunity to play in front of our home fans and we are going to bring great energy rain or shine.”
The Panthers will get things going at 2:00 p.m. against Austin Peay. At 4:30 p.m the GSU will take on Jacksonville State. Georgia State defeated both the Governors and the Gamecocks last season at the GSU Beach Complex.
“We are looking forward to the opportunity to try some different things with our lineup. We would like to play all of our freshmen. Experience early in the season will help them develop as players, and us develop as a team”, said Van Fleet.
The Panthers have played true freshmen early and often this year. Eden Hawes (5-2), Ashley Bauchert (2-1), Mattie Johnson (1-0), and Meagan McCall (1-0) all have winning records in their true freshman season.
