What you need to know:

*GSU Beach is in Boca Raton, Florida for three Saturday duals.

*The Panthers have won five of their last six duals and are 7-3 on the year.

*GSU will face tournament host, No. 15 FAU Saturday at 5:00 p.m.


ATLANTA- No. 11 Georgia State beach volleyball travels to Boca Raton this weekend for the Burrow Beach Bash. The Panthers will take on Florida Gulf Coast, Houston Baptist, and Florida Atlantic in what will be a busy Saturday in the sand.

GSU’s slammed Saturday kicks off at 9:00 a.m. with the Panthers taking on Florida Gulf Coast. Beth Van Fleet’s squad will then have a rest before back to back duals with Houston Baptist at 3:00 p.m. and No. 15 Florida Atlantic at 5:00 p.m.

State is looking to build off the momentum of two wins this past Tuesday at the GSU Beach Complex. The Panthers swept both Austin Peay and Jacksonville State, and did so without losing a single game. The wins improved GSU to a 7-3 record on the year.

Graduate student Annika Van Gunst and junior Brooke Weiner lead the way for the Panthers with a 7-1 record in the two position. The duo has won six straight matches and earned  CCSA Pair of the Week honors announced on March 6th. 

GSU has also seen great production from junior Ashley McGinn and freshman Eden Hawes who have won four of their last five matches in the five position. Hawes and fellow freshmen Ashley Bauchert, Rebekah Brodbeck, Mattie Johnson, and Meagan McCall all have winning records on the sand this season.
