ATLANTA -- Cornerbacks Chandon Sullivan and B.J. Clay and defensive end Mackendy Cheridor have earned free agent opportunities in the National Football League.

Sullivan, the three-time All-Sun Belt Conference selection and CoSIDA Academic All-American, agreed to a free agent contract with the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles.

Cheridor, who finished his career as the Panthers' all-time leader in sacks, will join his hometown team, the Atlanta Falcons.

Clay will head to the Los Angeles Chargers.

These three will attempt to earn roster spots and join the four current Panthers in the NFL:

>Placekicker Wil Lutz, an undrafted free agent in 2016 who was originally signed by the Baltimore Ravens but has played the last two seasons with the New Orleans Saints;

>Offensive lineman Ulrick John, drafted in 2014 by the Indianapolis Colts and recently signed by the New England Patriots;

>Wide receiver Robert Davis, a sixth-round draft pick last year by the Washington Redskins.
