ATLANTA – Georgia State freshman Chloe Howard was named to the All-Sun Belt Women’s Golf Second-Team on Thursday afternoon as announced by the conference office.

Howard led the Panthers with a 74.76 scoring average in her first season. She had a team-high six top 25 finishes in 10 events to go along with three top 10 results.

She finished the year with a tie for fifth at the Sun Belt Conference Championship to earn all-tournament honors.

“I’m extremely proud of the way Chloe handled her freshman season,” head coach Cathy Mant said. “As good as her first year was, I truly believe she is just scratching the surface to how good she can be. I look forward to working with her as she develops the next few years.”

In five spring tournaments, Howard finished no worse than a tie for 20th, including a seventh-place finish to open the spring at the Amelia Island Collegiate and a fifth-place result at the Bama Beach Bash. She finished with five rounds of par or better during the year.

The All-Sun Belt First Team included Sena Ersoy (Coastal Carolina), Malene Krolboll Hansen (Coastal Carolina), Frantiska Lunackova (Coastal Carolina), Siti Shaari (South Alabama), Anne-Charlotte Mora (Texas State) and Sasikarn Somboonsup (Texas State).

Along with Howard, the All-Sun Belt Second Team included Sabrina Bonanno (Little Rock), Marie Lunackova (Coastal Carolina), Ella Ofstedahl (Georgia Southern), Madison Connell (South Alabama) and Ava Schwienteck (UT Arlington).

Georgia State concluded its season at the Sun Belt Championship last month. The Panthers will open the 2018-19 season in early September.
