ATLANTA- Georgia State volleyball had a strong semester in the classroom, producing a 3.62 GPA for the spring session. The Panthers had 12 players earn academic honors, including four being placed on the President’s List.
Junior Carley Eiken, sophomores Morgan Hash and Madelyn Ott, and freshman Paige Etherington all recorded a 4.0 or higher to be named to the President’s List. The team would have four more players on both the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll, and the Dean’s List.
A spot on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll is given to students who finish with a 3.0-3.49 GPA, while the Dean’s List is reserved for students with a 3.5-3.99.
“I am so proud of the hard work that our team put forth toward academics and training this spring”, said coach Sally Polhamus. “Their academic expectations and goals have raised the bar for our program, and for who we are as student athletes.”
Overall Georgia State student-athletes achieved a combined 3.14 GPA for the spring semester. An outstanding 196 Panthers earned academic honors, with 42 student-athletes being named to the President’s List.
The 3.14 grade point average marks the 20th consecutive semester, dating back to 2008 that the athletic program has maintained a GPA (cumulative or semester) of 3.0 or higher.
The Panthers will be back in the classroom and on the courts when classes resume in August.
