ATLANTA - Rashell Reid will compete Saturday in Tampa, Fla., at the NCAA East Prelims for a chance to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Reid will compete in the Hammer Throw Saturday morning at 8:45. Reid will look to follow in the footsteps of GSU great LaPorscha Wells who qualified for the NCAA Championships in 2017 in the Hammer Throw.
The top 12 finishers from the East Prelims will qualify for the 2018 NCAA Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore., June 6-9.
Reid was named All-Sun Belt after finishing second in the Hammer Throw at the Sun Belt Outdoor Track and Field Championships back on May 12.
Reid's throw of 59.19 meters at the Georgia Tech Invite on April 20 earned her a spot at the NCAA East Prelims at USF Track and Field Stadium.
The 2018 NCAA East Preliminaries can be streamed live on FloTrack with a subscription fee. Tickets for the event begin at $15 for a single session and $35 for all three days.
