ATLANTA-Georgia State women’s tennis head coach Jason Marshall announced on Thursday that he will pursue other opportunities and will not return as the head coach for the 2018-19 season.

In four years with the program, Marshall produced a pair of Sun Belt Conference championships and led the Panthers to the NCAA tournament twice. The most recent appearance came last month as Georgia State faced Georgia in Athens.

Marshall finishes his career at Georgia State with a 53-39 record.

“I want to thank Charlie Cobb and Brian Kelly for everything,” Marshall said. “It has been an amazing run in my four years to win two Sun Belt Conference titles and lead our student-athletes on and off the court. I’m really looking forward to the next challenge in pursuing other opportunities in growing my career.”

Assistant coach Alex Leatu will serve as the interim head coach during a national search for Marshall’s replacement.
