ATLANTA - Head coach Chris England released the 2018 schedule for Georgia State's cross country team Friday, announcing that the Panthers will open the season in nearby Athens, Ga.

"We're excited for the upcoming season," England said. "This schedule provides good competition for our team and we look forward to improving each week as we prepare for the Sun Belt Championships."

Georgia State's first meet of the season will be the UGA Bulldog Invitational in Athens, Ga., on Sept. 8. GSU will then travel all the way to Texas for the Texas A&M Invite on Sept. 22 in College Station.

Following trips to Spartanburg, S.C., on Sept. 29 for the USC Upstate Invite and Little Rock, Ark., for the Little Rock Invite on Oct. 13, the Panthers will then compete for a conference title.

This year's Sun Belt Championships will take place in Mobile, Ala., on Oct. 27. The NCAA East Championships will be held Nov. 9 in Tallahassee, Fla.

Georgia State returns its top performer from 2017 in sophomore Lotte Meyberg. Meyberg earned all-conference honors last season. Junior Angela Alonso is also back after an All-Sun Belt season in 2016.
