ATLANTA – The Georgia State women’s golf team will reach the mid-point of the fall season starting Monday facing a tough 17-team field at the Pinehurst Challenge. It will mark the third-straight year playing in the event in Pinehurst, N.C., an event hosted by College of Charleston.

Junior Harmanprit Kaur will look to continue her hot start to the season. Kaur has a pair of top-20 finishes, a team-best 72.83 scoring average and a low round of 67.

“After a couple weeks of practice, we are looking forward to getting back into tournament play,” head coach Cathy Mant said. “This is a tournament we really enjoy going to and are glad to be going back.

“Harmanprit has gotten off to a great start to the season. She has put in a lot of work to get where she is and I believe she is going to keep playing great golf his week.”

Kaur will lead a line-up that will also include sophomores Chloe Howard and Petra Duran, along with freshmen Emma Berlin and Maria Blasco.

The 17-team field will face a challenging course that will measure to 6,040 yards and play as a par 72. The teams will play 36 holes on Monday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The final round on Tuesday will also begin with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m.

Along with Georgia State, the field will include Bucknell, College of Charleston, Charleston Southern, Elon, High Point, Jacksonville, Jacksonville State, James Madison, North Florida, Presbyterian College, Richmond, Samford, Stetson, Towson, UNC Greensboro, and William & Mary.
