ATLANTA – Kevin and Steven Huynh will represent Georgia State men’s tennis this weekend as the duo heads to the 2018 Grizzly Open hosted by Georgia Gwinnett.

The Huynh brothers return to the court after a successful fall debut in last week’s Mercer Gridiron Classic. They finished with a 2-1 record in doubles play and made it to the quarterfinals of the Flight A Doubles bracket, helping the Panthers to a 15-7 overall record for the weekend.

Individually, Kevin Huynh had a strong start to the 2018 fall slate as he ended the Gridiron Classic with a 3-1 record and made the quarterfinals of the Flight A Singles bracket. He won his first two matches before falling in the third round, then bounced back with a 6-1, 6-0 victory in the extra consolation draw. Steven Huynh ended the tournament 0-1 after falling in the round of 32 in the Flight B bracket.

Both Panthers will compete in the Flight A Singles draw, with Kevin Huynh taking on Federico Barbon of Point University and Steven Huynh facing Tomas Fernandez of Alabama State. In doubles play, the two open with a matchup against Hayden Cassone and Antonio Mora of Emory.

The Grizzly Open begins with doubles play 11 a.m. Friday and concludes Sunday afternoon.
