Happy Thanksgiving, Panther Family!

There is a ton of exciting news to share with you as we transition into the Holiday Season.  We are incredibly proud of how our coaches and student-athletes performed so far this year.

First, I congratulate Coach Brett Surrency and our men’s soccer team for their Sun Belt Conference championship. Coach Surrency represents the very best of Georgia State and it’s very exciting for us to celebrate this championship. It’s the beginning of many for our program under his leadership.

Secondly, we recognize the tremendous turnaround season for our women’s soccer team.  Coach Ed Joyce and his team competed incredibly hard during the Sun Belt Conference tournament and showed us the potential for the next several years.

Third, you see two renderings of the new Football Operations Center at the stadium.  Demolition began this week and to see the physical construction begin gives an uplift to our program.  Photo A is of the 7,500 square foot weight room and Photo B is the entrance to the coaches’ offices and team meeting rooms.  We look forward to sharing future photographs as construction continues.  It also allows us to talk about giving opportunities for office space, team meeting areas, and the players’ and coaches’ lockers.  Naming opportunities are identified by clicking here.

Finally, we congratulate Coach Gene Hill, his staff, and players for their 3-0 start, including Coach Hill’s first win of many as our head coach.  They return to the GSU Sports Arena Sunday, December 2 versus Georgia Tech.  Not to be outdone, our men’s team is also off to a fantastic start.  Our non-conference schedule is challenging and our next home game is Wednesday, December 12 versus Chattanooga, although we have an interesting non-conference game at Alabama on December 4.

Many thanks to everyone.  Please don’t forget about GSU student-athletes in your year-end gift planning!!  Every dollar donated makes a difference in educating our student-athletes.  You help change lives with your generosity.

Go Panthers!

P.S. Congratulations to all future Panthers who signed their NLIs yesterday.  We are fired up to have you join our family.
