ATLANTAGeorgia State women’s golf coach Cathy Mant announced the signing of highly-touted junior golfer Janejilla Marston on Friday to a National Letter of Intent to join the Panthers for the 2019-20 season.

Marston recently competed in the Teen World Championship finishing in third place following rounds of 71, 74, and 78.

Marston also competed in the Teen Van Horn Cup along with her partner from China and defeated the United States team after shooting a sizzling best ball score of 68. The Teen Van Horn Cup is a one-day best ball tournament featuring the top players from the United States squaring off against the top players from the rest of the world, is contested on Pinehurst No. 2.

“We are extremely excited about Jenny becoming a member of our team and the Panther Family," said Mant. "She is an extremely talented player with a strong competitive background who has played all over the world. We were fortunate to be able to see Jenny when she competed in the states and know that her game will keep moving our team in the right competitive direction.”

Marston has competed in multiple tournaments in the United States earning an 11th-place finish at the AJGA E-Z-GO Vaughn Taylor Championship in Augusta shooting 73-76-74. She also earned an eighth-place finish at the Amino VITAL® Junior Championship in Durham, N.C.

Internationally, Marston tied for 19th at the 84th Singha Thailand Amateur Open 2018 at Panya Indra Golf Course.

Georgia State recently finished a busy five-tournament fall season. The Panthers will return to action for the Amelia Island Collegiate Feb. 18-19.
