ATLANTA – Georgia State men’s soccer head coach Brett Surrency announced the signing of four prospective student-athletes during the fall signing period, kicking off the 2019 signing class for the Panthers.

The defending Sun Belt Champions will welcome four highly-touted recruits, three of which played club soccer in Georgia. All four inked their national letter of intent with Georgia State and will join Surrency and company for the upcoming 2019 season.

Ross Finnie (MF – Carnoustie, Scotland)

Played prep soccer at Thomas Alleyne's High School in Staffordshire, England … Played primarily as a center midfielder … Earned 12 total caps for the Scotland national team from U16-U18 … Helped lead his school to three county championships … Played for Wolves U23 team … Guided the Wolves to win the Bitzer Cup in 2015 … Has totaled 17 goals with the Wolves … Scored two goals and added an assist in a match against Sunderland.

Justin Guest (MF – McDonough, GA)

Two-year letter winner at Luella High School in Locust Grove, Ga., where he played as a left winger and center attacking midfielder … Was named All-Region 4-AAAA Attacking Player of the Year after scoring 18 goals in 17 games his sophomore season … Scored 17 goals in 17 games his freshman year … Helped lead his team to the first round of the playoffs … Played club soccer for the Concorde Fire under coaches Ken Kurilec and Karl Haggon … Tallied four goals in 10 games and recorded his first hat trick during the 2018-19 season … Scored 23 goals in 38 games and helped lead his team to the USSDA playoffs in 2017-18.

Matthew Rios (D – Lawrenceville, GA)

Played club soccer for Atlanta United under head coach Rodrigo Rios … Played primarily as a defender … Helped lead his U16/17 team to a US Soccer Development Academy national championship … Aided Atlanta United U17/18 to a runner-up finish in the USSDA National Tournament.

Marley Stephenson (D – Sarasota, FL)

Two-year letter winner at Alcovy High School in Covington, Ga., where he played primarily as an outside back and forward … Was named to the Augusta Chronicle’s All-Region Team his sophomore year … Earned Coach’s Award and was the top scorer after notching 16 goals and eight assists his freshman season … Scored a hat trick against Newton to clinch a playoff spot his freshman year … Played club soccer for the Atlanta Fire under head coach Brad Mitchum … Attended ECNL National Training Camp in the Bahamas … 2017-18 Southeast All-Conference honoree … Two-time Georgia State Cup finalist … Attended US Soccer Training Camp at Oglethorpe University … Future Business Leaders of America member and region winner.
