ATLANTA -- Super Bowl LIII brought plenty of national and international exposure to Atlanta, including the Georgia State football program.
GSU student-athletes were interviewed and featured by major media outlets from CNN to BBC to Fox Sports Mexico.
CNN Sports filmed a piece at the GSU Practice Complex featuring Atlanta Falcons kicker Matt Bryant and former NFL stars-turned-TV-personalities Hines Ward and Coy Wire. With Bryant attempting to teach Ward and Wire how to kick a football, GSU specialists Charlie Flint and Oliver Holdenson served as the snapper and holder respectively. Current kickers Brandon Wright and Barry Brown, along with Panther alum and current New Orleans Saints kicker Wil Lutz, were also on hand.
Georgia State football also received exposure in international markets. BBC television and radio aired features that included Panther student-athletes, including Ed Curney, Remy Lazarus, Dan Ellington, Hunter Atkinson and Devin Gentry.
Freshman placekicker Mateo Rengifo, who speaks Spanish, was interviewed by Fox Sports Mexico.
