NEW ORLEANS - Angela Alonso was named Sun Belt Track Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Wednesday.

Women's Track Athlete of the Week

Angela Alonso, Georgia State, Junior
Angela Alonso took home first place honors in the 1,000m Saturday at the Samford Open in Birmingham, Ala. Alonso's time of 2:53.27 set a new Georgia State record in the event.

Women's Field Athlete of the Week

Autavia Fluker, South Alabama, Junior
South Alabama junior Autavia Fluker's 18.50m (60-08.50) effort at Samford's Bulldog Invite was the third-best weight throw mark in school history and the best in the Sun Belt Conference this season. The Bessemer, Ala. native, also finished second in the shot put event with a 15.15m (49-08.50) throw.

Men's Track Athlete of the Week

Gable Dershem, Appalachian State, Sophomore
Appalachian State's Gable Dershem won the 5,000-meter run in a PR time of 14:59.66 at the Darius Dixon Invitational in Lynchburg, Va. His time was over 19 seconds faster than the second place finisher. In addition, his time moved him into the top spot in the Sun Belt in the 5,000-meter run this season.

Men's Field Athlete of the Week

Dominque Williams, Louisiana, Junior
Louisiana's Dominique Williams kept up his stellar indoor season by recording a personal-best in the men's weight throw at the Samford Bulldog Invitational. He posted a mark of 62-0.25 to eclipse his previous best (61-9.75) set at the LSU Bayou Bengal. Williams will head into the Sun Belt Indoor Track & Field Championships ranked No. 2 in the league in the weight throw.
