GULF SHORES, Ala.- The Georgia State Sandy Panthers dominated in a pair of wins Sunday in Gulf Shores. GSU defeated Houston Baptist 4-1 before knocking off Austin Peay 5-0 to improve to 8-4 on the year.

Four Georgia State pairs, Eden Hawes and Georgia Johnson, Olivia Stasevich and Maddy Delmonte, Kate Novack and Brooke Weiner, and Becky Tresham and Maddie Gordon all went 2-0 on the day.

The fun started when for the second time in two days Maddie Gordon and Becky Tresham got things started with a win on court five. In the weekend finale, Bailey Hatchett and Bekah Brodbeck made their season debut as a pair and took down their opponents in two sets, 21-13, 21-12. Tresham and Gordon playing on court four would win 21-9, 21-13, and GSU would cruise on courts one, two, and three to sweep the Governors 5-0.

On the weekend GSU went 17-3 in individual matches and earned two sweeps. The Sandy Panthers did not give up a match on courts one two, or three all weekend.
