Justin Landry joined Georgia State as an Assistant Strength Coach in April 2019 after three years at UC Davis. Landry will be primarily responsible for working with the men’s basketball team.

Serving as the Associate Strength and Conditioning Coach while at UC Davis, he directed all aspects of training for men’s basketball, women’s soccer, field hockey, along with men and women’s golf. He was responsible for the annual planning, periodization, sport analytics, individual program design, pre-habilitation, agility, lifting, core exercises, and regeneration sessions for each of those sports.

During his time at UC Davis, he traveled with the men’s basketball team and was a part of both a Big West Conference Regular Season Championship and Big West Conference Tournament Championship. For five months in 2017, he served as the interim director of strength and conditioning.

Prior to his arrival at UC Davis, Landry was the Basketball Performance Coach at Troy. He worked directly with the men’s basketball team and also served as the facility coordinator for the weight room.

His first full-time collegiate experience came at Texas where as a Basketball Performance Coach from May 2014 to April 2015. Prior to joining the Longhorn staff, he served as an intern at Baylor and was an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Father Ryan High School in Nashville, Tenn. He also worked at his alma mater Tennessee State as a graduate assistant for 18 months.

Landry received his bachelor’s of science degree from Cal State East Bay in June 2012 before earning a Masters of Education in Sports Science from Tennessee State in 2014.

Landry is NSCA-CSCS certified and has also received certifications in functional movement screen, reflexive performance reset and functional soft tissue transformation.
