ATLANTA-With summer school just about wrapped up, it also meant the end to summer workouts for the men's basketball team. Under first-year head coach Rob Lanier, the Panthers spent the last eight weeks adjusting to a new system while preparing themselves for the upcoming 2019-20 season.
The two-time defending Sun Belt Conference Champions have won 24 games in each of the last two seasons, garnered back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances and have now made the 'Big Dance' three times in the last five seasons.
Lanier took over the Panthers in April and has already made his mark on the program. He previously spent the last four seasons as associate head coach at Tennessee. The Volunteers finished the 2018-19 season 31-6, advancing to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. The season included a win over the No. 1 team in the nation and a No. 1 national ranking for the Volunteers.
Georgia State announced its Sun Belt Conference schedule on July 30 (click here) and expect to announce non-conference play in late August or early September.
