ATLANTA- Georgia State volleyball is on the road this weekend after recording a 2-1 opening weekend performance. Georgia State heads to Morehead, Ky. to face host Morehead State, Providence and Presbyterian.

Georgia State will face unfamiliar opponents this weekend. The Panthers have only played host Morehead State once in program history. The match in 2005 resulted in a 2-3 GSU loss. Georgia State played Providence in 2003 and 1996. Both matches resulted in a loss for the Panthers.

This will mark the fifth meeting between Presbyterian and Georgia State. The series is currently tied with the Panthers taking the last meeting 3-1 in 2018.

After 13 sets of play junior hitter, Džemila Hadžić, leads the offense with 33 kills and 8 aces. The native of Bosnia-Herzegovina recorded a career high 19 kills in a single match last weekend against Fordham. Her performance propelled GSU to a 3-1 victory.

Lauren Bandera earned Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week honors after accumulating 69 digs in last weekend’s play. Bandera currently leads the Sun Belt in digs per set. The sophomore was also named the MVP of the GSU Invitational.
