ATLANTA – Georgia State’s 2020 softball schedule was announced Wednesday and features 23 home contests including exciting non-conference home games against Georgia, Georgia Tech, Penn State, Iowa State and Louisiana.

The Panthers will compete in four preseason tournaments beginning with the season-opening trip to Tampa, Fla., for the USF Tourney Feb. 7-9 where GSU will face Fresno State, Michigan, Illinois State, USF and Florida.

UGA comes to town Feb. 12 for the home-opener in what will be the Bulldogs’ first visit to the Heck Softball Complex since 2005. 2020 will be the 10th straight season that the two sides will meet.

GSU’s next home game will be against Georgia Tech on Feb. 19. GSU will play the road legs of UGA and GT series on April 15 in Athens and March 31 at Georgia Tech.

After the Mercer Tourney in Macon, the Panthers will host the I-75 Challenge Feb. 28 through March 1 to kick off a nine-game home stretch. Penn State, Rider and Iowa State will visit Panthersville for the I-75 Challenge.

After hosting Kennesaw State on March 4, GSU begins Sun Belt play at home as Texas State comes to town. GSU will also host conference series against Louisiana, Troy, Coastal Carolina and Georgia Southern.

Some marquee road opponents for the Panthers this season include a trip to Auburn on March 11 and a visit to Clemson on March 18. Clemson will be playing their first season of NCAA softball in 2020.
