ATLANTA – Georgia State women’s soccer aims to bounce back from its two-game losing streak as the Panthers host Arkansas State Friday night at the GSU Soccer Complex.


◊ Arkansas State enters the weekend on a four-game winning streak, including three shutout victories. The Red Wolves most recently defeated Texas State 1-0 on Sunday, scoring the lone goal off a penalty kick from Dana O’Boye.

◊ Arkansas State ranks third in the Sun Belt in both goals scored (19) and goals allowed (11).

◊ Sarah Sodoma leads the Red Wolves with six goals and five assists for 17 total points, the second-most goals among all players in the Sun Belt.

◊ Friday will be the seventh all-time meeting between Georgia State and Arkansas State. The Red Wolves lead the series 4-1-1 and won the most recent contest 2-0 in 2018. GSU looks to earn its first win over the Red Wolves since 2014. 


◊ Georgia State fell to South Alabama 3-0 Sunday afternoon in Mobile, Ala.

◊ Each team finished the match with nine total shots while the Jaguars held a 5-2 edge in shots on goal.

Jimena Cabrero and Anna Remensnyder took the team’s only two shots on goal for Georgia State.

◊ Cabrero led GSU with two total shots, the fifth time this season the Santander, Spain, native has fired two or more shots in a single contest.


Jimena Cabrero leads GSU with three total goals and six points through 11 contests. Her three goals are all game-winners, tied for the most among all players in the Sun Belt.

◊ Cabrero and Brooke Shank lead the team in total shots with 14 apiece, followed by Jolie Ryff with 10.

◊ Georgia State has had seven different players net a goal through 11 matches.
