ATLANTA – Georgia State women’s tennis head coach Alex Leatu announced the Panthers’ 2019-20 schedule Friday morning, opening the spring slate on the road at Baylor on January 17. 

While at Baylor, the Panthers will play McNeese on Jan. 18. The Panthers will have a couple weeks off before the start of a rigorous February slate. 

Georgia State is on the road all month. First the Panthers will travel to Auburn, Ala., on Feb. 1 to face Auburn in Georgia State’s only SEC contest of the season. The following week the Panthers will play ETSU on Feb. 7 and VCU on Feb. 8 both in Johnson City, Tenn. 

In the middle of the month the Panthers will travel to Ames, Iowa to face William & Mary on Feb. 15 and Iowa State on Feb. 16. The following week Georgia State will return to the state to face Mercer on Feb. 21 in Macon before hitting the road for two additional weekends. 

On Feb. 23 the team will travel to Jacksonville, Fla. for a contest against UNF before finishing the month with matches against Liberty on Feb. 28 and Penn on Feb. 29 in Lynchburg, Va. 

Leatu’s club finally returns home for a four match home-stretch in March. GSU hosts Kennesaw State and Clark University on March 6 before its Sun Belt opener against ULM on March 14. The team takes on Louisiana the next day. 

Georgia State goes back on the road to face rival Georgia Southern on March 18 and  Arkansas State on March 22. The Panthers round out the month of March by traveling to the Lone Star State to take on UT Arlington on March 28 and Texas State on March 29. 

Georgia State will return to the Clarkston campus to play the Sun Belt schools from the Carolinas. The match against Appalachian State is slated for April 4. The Panthers will face Coastal Carolina on April 5 for the final home match of the season.

A trip to Alabama to battle South Alabama on April 11 and Troy on April 12 will round out regular season action. 

The Sun Belt Conference Tournament is set for April 23-26 in Peachtree City, Ga.
