ATLANTA -- Freshman Ryan Glass homered and drove in two runs as Georgia State defeated Morehouse 7-4 Tuesday at the GSU Baseball Complex for its fourth straight win.
The game, which was a late addition to the schedule after a rainout last week, was called in the bottom of the fifth inning after a heavy fog settled across the outfield, making it very difficult to see the ball.
Glass, the rookie from Atlanta's Woodward Academy, drove his first-inning homer to straightaway center field for his second round-tripper of the season. He also had an RBI fielder's choice.
Georgia State (8-3) jumped on the Maroon Tigers' quickly as Kendall Ford drew a leadoff walked, stole second and third and came home on a groundout by Tervont Johnson before Glass put the Panthers up 2-0.
Making his first appearance on the mound, junior right-hander Craig Williams (1-0) pitched three scoreless innings on a staff day to earn the victory.
Georgia State hosts Georgia Tech Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the GSU Baseball Complex. Admission and parking are free.
