ATLANTA – The Georgia State men’s golf team will close out the regular season beginning on Monday at the Shoal Creek Invitational at Shoal Creek Golf Club just outside of Birmingham.

The two-day 54-hole event will mark the Panthers final warm-up before opening the Sun Belt Conference Championship in one week.

“This is our final warm-up before the conference tournament and we need to use it to fully prepare ourselves for what we will see in a week,” head coach Chad Wilson said. “We will be playing against a very good field at a great golf course. Some guys can lock-up their spots in Florida next week if they take care of business this week.”

Joining Georgia State will be Alabama, Auburn, Bowling Green State, Charlotte, Jacksonville, Jacksonville State, Kentucky, Lamar, LSU, North Florida, Samford, Tennessee, Troy, and UAB.

The line-up for Georgia State will include senior James Kyles, juniors Egill Gunnarsson and Josh Edgar, along with sophomore Owen Sertl and freshman David Li.

Gunnarsson leads the Panthers with a 72.89 scoring average in six events this year. Edgar is tied for the team lead with two top 25 finishes.

Live scoring can be found throughout the tournament at GolfStat. Georgia State will arrive in Birmingham on Sunday morning for an afternoon practice round. The teams play 36 holes on Monday beginning at 8:40 a.m. ET off Holes No. 1 & 10. The final round will begin on Tuesday also at 8:40 a.m. off both tees.

Following the event, Georgia State will return to the course April 21-24 for the Sun Belt Conference Championship at The Raven in Miramar Beach, Fla.
