ATLANTA – Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Kendra Clarke was named Sun Belt women’s soccer Defensive Player of the Week, league announced Tuesday afternoon.
Clarke allowed just one goal and picked up nine total saves during the week to keep Georgia State unbeaten in its last four matches. She allowed just one goal and gathered three saves in Friday’s 2-1 victory over Chattanooga then delivered a career-performance in Sunday’s 0-0 draw at UAB, earning a career-high six saves and her second shutout of the year.
The Silver Spring, Md., native leads all goalkeepers in the Sun Belt with in goals against average (0.47) and save percentage (.882).
GSU women’s soccer is back in action 7 p.m. Friday against Mercer in Macon, Ga.
