ATLANTA, GA.- Georgia State volleyball will host on Coastal Carolina in a midweek afternoon match Tuesday at the GSU Sports Arena. The Panthers and Chanticleers will meet at 4:30 pm in a match originally scheduled for September 21, but postponed due to Hurricane Florence.
GSU carries a 2-3 Sun Belt record into the matinee match, after splitting a pair of matches with UT Arlington and Texas State this past weekend. The Chanticleers are perfect in four tries against conference foes, coming off weekend wins against Arkansas State and Little Rock.
The match will feature two of the most prolific setters in recent Sun Belt history. Sarah Renner and Coastal Carolina’s Sarah Boothe rank sixth and seventh respectively in assists per set, and are the only two players in the Sun Belt to dish out over 2,000 assists in their career.
Senior Crystal Lee has recorded 81 kills and three double-doubles in her last six matches. The Chicago native is averaging a team high 3.38 kills per set over that span, and has moved into sixth in the Sun Belt in kills per frame.
Meisheia Griffin has been strong at the net for GSU, averaging over a block per set. Her 56 blocks in 50 sets is good for first on the Panthers and sixth in the conference.
Admission to all Panther volleyball matches is free. As a reminder, construction of the Courtland St. Bridge is ongoing. Parking for the matches is still available via G Deck, but we encourage fans to allow extra time to navigate the construction.
