*GSU dropped a mid week match to Coastal Carolina 3-0 Tuesday afternoon at the GSU Sports Arena.
*The Panthers are back at the GSU Sports Arena this weekend for matches against South Alabama and Troy.
ATLANTA, GA.- Georgia State volleyball fell 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-21) in a midweek match against Coastal Carolina Tuesday afternoon. The match was originally scheduled for September 21, but rescheduled due to Hurricane Florence.
Meisheia Griffin was a force on both sides of the net, leading GSU with eight kills on a .333 hitting percentage and seven blocks. Her 15 points were also a team high.
Defensively, sophomore Kinkaid Padgett tied a career best and game high15 digs, while freshman Lauren Bandera added 10 digs of her own. Carley eiken had seven digs in two sets, while dishing out 19 assists.
Overall GSU out-dug the Chanticleers 59-54 on the evening. The Panthers also recorded 10 blocks in the match to Coastal Carolina’s nine. Georgia State recorded six blocks in the third set alone.
The loss drops GSU to 2-4 in conference play, while the Chanticleers are undefeated in five contests.
The Panthers will be back at the Sports Arena for a pair of matches this weekend. GSU will take on South Alabama Friday night, and Troy Saturday evening. Both matches are set for 6:30 pm starts and will be broadcast on PantherVision.
