ATLANTA- The Georgia State women’s soccer team will face Troy and Georgia Southern this weekend to close out its road schedule.

The Panthers are 3-8-2 (1-4-1 SBC) this season, falling in their last road match to Coastal Carolina last week.

Freshman Kayla Ruiz has been strong in the past few matches, scoring the lone GSU goal against the Chanticleers. Ruiz is now tied for second on the team with two goals.

Monique Hundley continues to lead the team in shots, firing 30 with 12 on target. Sophomore Brooke Shank ranks second on the team in shots with 21, putting 12 on on goal for a .571 shots on goal percentage.

Troy 5-8-2 (3-3 SBC) this season, and will host Georgia State on a one-match win streak. The Trojans defeated Little Rock 1-0 in their contest last Friday.

This will be the 16th time that the two teams have met, with the Panthers holding a 9-4-2 series advantage. Last season’s meeting at the GSU Soccer Complex ended in a 0-0 double overtime draw.

Georgia Southern is 6-6-1 (3-3 SBC) this season and will enter the weekend on a three-match win streak. The match will be the second in the GSU-GS rivalry series, with the winner earning a rivalry point.

Georgia State will meet the Eagles for the 22nd time in series history. The Panthers hold a 13-6-2 series advantage, defeating Georgia Southern 2-1 last season.

Kickoff at Troy will be Thursday at 8 p.m. and kickoff at Georgia Southern is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. Live stats and live streams will be available at GeorgiaStateSports.com.
