ATLANTA – The Georgia State women’s golf team finished the spring season with eight members of the team earning academic honors as announced by the athletic department on Friday. The squad finished with a 3.70 team GPA, the fourth-highest of all sports at Georgia State.

Junior Lexie Newhouse and freshman Emma Berlin led the Panthers as each earned President’s List honors for a GPA of 4.0 or higher for the second straight semester.

Senior Jemima Gregson, junior Harmanprit Kaur, sophomore Petra Duran, and freshman Alejandra Ayala garnered Dean’s List honors for a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Sophomore Chloe Howard along with freshman Maria Blasco earned Athletic Director’s Honor Roll recognition for a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

“I’m extremely proud of the entire team for putting together such a remarkable spring semester in the classroom,” head coach Cathy Mant said. “Our program continues to show that they take their studies extremely serious as they want to be well-rounded individuals on and off the golf course.”

Georgia State student-athletes achieved a 3.16-grade point average for the spring semester, with 184 individuals earning academic honors, including an all-time high 53 Panthers on the President’s List.

The 3.16-grade point average marks the 22nd consecutive semester, dating back to 2008, that the Panthers have maintained a GPA (semester or cumulative) of 3.0 or higher, and it gives the athletic department a 3.11 GPA for the 2018-19 academic year.

Georgia State will open the 2019-20 season in mid-September.
