Georgia State athletics is announcing five new staff hires and four employees with new responsibilities for 2012-13.
The Student-Athlete Development staff has hired Brittany Price as academic advisor and tutor coordinator. In addition, Dusty Bennett was named senior academic coordinator and student affairs coordinator with Jessica Summey now serving as academic advisor and SAAC coordinator. Price comes to Georgia State from Wichita State, where she was an academic coordinator while earning her master's degree in sport management. She is a graduate of the University of Arkansas.
The compliance team has added Jay Bresnahan as assistant director and financial aid coordinator. He arrives at GSU from the University of Minnesota where he worked in the Compliance Office while obtaining his master's degree. Bresnahan had been an NCAA student-athlete as a baseball player at Minnesota State (formerly Mankato).
The external operations staff has promoted Jeremy Boreland to corporate sales and sponsorships coordinator and the sports communications office has brought on Jason Ashcraft as assistant sports information director. Boreland earned his master's degree at Georgia State, serving the last two years as a graduate assistant in the corporate sales office. He earned his undergrad degree at Florida State, working with ISP on the Seminoles marketing and sales projects. Ashcraft has six years sports communications experience, serving the past three years at Xavier and the previous three with Morehead (Ky.) State. He earned both his master's and undergrad degrees at Morehead. In addition, the external operations unit has promoted Kyle McKeon to coordinate the marketing efforts after working the past year and half with the Panther Athletic Club. McKeon earned his master's at Georgia State while working with the marketing staff and is a graduate of Florida State.
The athletic training staff has added Anne Bryan as an assistant athletic trainer. She joins the athletic training staff after working with the Georgia Southern staff in that role while earning her master's in kinesiology with an emphasis in athletic training. Bryan earned her undergraduate degree from Longwood (Va.) University.
The business office has elevated Maliaha Dixon to Accountant I status.
