ATLANTA -- Nic Wilson hit his 12th home run of the season to tie for the NCAA lead in Georgia State's 19-6 win over Alabama A&M Wednesday at the GSU Baseball Complex.

Wilson's two-run, opposite field homer in the first inning tied him with Michael Katz of William and Mary for the NCAA lead. GSU's senior first baseman walked twice and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly for his 36th RBI, also among the national leaders.

"It's just a wonderful thing to watch him perform every day," GSU head coach Greg Frady said. "The key for Nic is to be patient. He's going to receive a lot of bases on balls if he's patient, and right now, he's showing no signs of being anything but very discplined at the plate."

Chad Prain hit a two-run homer for the Panthers (12-14), and Caden Bailey collected three hits and three RBI. Greg Bowder added three hits and drove in two, while Joey Roach and Ryan Blanton had two hits each.

Georgia State pounded out 17 hits while scoring 19 runs for the second straight day.

"These two games were big for us because we needed to get some at-bats for different players and regain our confidence," Frady said. "You try to get prepared for the weekend, but these games are important, too. I'm really happy about our positive results the last two days. Hopefully we've got all three phases tuned up for the weekend."

Frady used every available position player on the roster today with 11 different players getting hits and 10 driving in runs.

Aidan McLaughin (1-1), the second of seven pitchers used by the Panthers, earned the victory with 1.2 innings of scoreless relief.

Julio Nunez collected three hits for Alabama A&M (10-18), and Jordan Friend had two RBI.

Georgia State hosts Troy in a Sun Belt Conference series that begins Friday at 6 p.m. at the GSU Baseball Complex.
