Nick Hogan, a Georgia State alumnus and former Panther standout, enters his second season as Director of Baseball Operations and his fourth year on the GSU staff.

Before moving into his current role prior to the 2011-12 season, Hogan spent two years on the coaching staff as the volunteer assistant.

During his two seasons on the coaching staff, GSU set numerous school records and won 73 games, qualifying for the CAA Tournament both years.

Hogan has also served as a coach in the Sunbelt and Coastal Plain summer wooden bat leagues, guiding teams to top finishes and playoff appearances.

Hogan joined the baseball staff after a very successful two-year career playing for Georgia State.

The leadoff hitter for the Panthers' most successful team ever in 2009, Hogan finished his career eighth in school history in stolen bases in just those two seasons. He had a reputation as being a hard-nosed player who would run into walls and take an inside pitch to the hip to help his team, evident by the fact he finished third on the all-time hit by pitch list with 25, just four off the school record.

During his senior year, Hogan played in 58 games and helped lead the Panthers to their first-ever CAA Championship and NCAA Regional appearance.

In 2008, Hogan led the team and the CAA with five triples while tying the school record with being hit by a pitch 16 times.

He earned his degree from Georgia State in December 2009.

Prior to coming to Georgia State, Hogan attended Pitt Community College in North Carolina, where he was a two-time all-region selection. He batted better than .350 in each of his two seasons, including a .423 mark as a freshman.

Hogan attended high school at nearby St. Pius X, leading the team to the state quarterfinals during this junior year. That same season, he earned first-team all-state honors.
