CLINTON, S.C. -- Playing its final non-conference game of the season, Georgia State fell at Presbyterian 11-7 Tuesday afternoon at the PC Baseball Complex.
Catcher Dalton Davies went 3-for-4 with two RBI for the Panthers (14-39).
Presbyterian (27-26) broke open a 2-1 game with a nine-run sixth-inning to take an 11-1. The Blue Hose took advantage of four walks and a hit batter in the inning.
The Panthers responded with five runs in the sixth on a two-run single by Davies, sacrifice flies by Daino Deas and Griffin Cheney, a bases-loaded walk by Chase Frady and a wild pitch to pull within 11-6.
Elian Merejo added a sacrifice fly in the ninth, but the Panthers could get no closer.
Merejo and Luke Leonard each had two hits and an RBI, but GSU left 10 men on base.
Senior right-hander Liam Henry finished the game with 3.2 scoreless innings, including five strikeouts, one shy of his career high.
Georgia State closes the season by hosting rival Georgia Southern in a Sun Belt Conference series Thursday (6 p.m.), Friday (6 p.m.) and Saturday (2 p.m.) at the GSU Baseball Complex. Saturday is Senior Day.
