Angelia Nugent finishes her career as one of the most accomplished jumpers in school history.
DES MOINES, Iowa — Angelia Nugent withdrew from competition in the triple jump after pulling her hamstring in the first attempt at the NCAA Championship meet Saturday morning.

The meet concludes the season for the Georgia State women’s track and field team and concludes an impressive four-year career for Nugent.

A senior from Paterson, New Jersey, Nugent finishes her time as a Panther as a six-time All-CAA competitor, a four-time conference champion, the school record-holder in the triple jump and one of just three GSU student-athletes to make multiple appearances in the national championship.

At last season's’ NCAA national championship, Nugent finished 19th after posting a mark of 12.42m (40’ 9”).

To earn a spot in the 2012 national meet, Nugent broke her own school record by jumping 13m (42’ 8”) at the NCAA East Regional meet on May 24-26.
