Freshman Margaret Bruemmer has played strongly at the midfielder position for the Panthers.

The Georgia State women’s soccer team will begin conference play this weekend with a trip to the east coast to take on Northeastern and Hofstra.

The Panther’s (3-3-1) first game of the weekend will take place in Boston on Friday at 6 p.m. on Northeastern’s turf field. Northeastern (2-6) has had a tough schedule in the first few weeks of the season, including losses against No. 23 Boston University, Ohio State and No. 6 Boston College. Greta Samuelsdottir is the only member of the team to have more than goal. She has a team leading two goals. Goalie Paige Burnett has already totaled 41 saves on the season with a GAA 1.98.

After the Northeastern game, Georgia State will travel to Hofstra (4-4), located in Hempstead, N.Y. The two teams will face off at 1 p.m. on Sunday. The Pride’s Sam Scolarici already has five goals this season on 11 shots on goal. Three different players have made a game-winning goal as well.

“We are getting ready by training on the turf to be ready to play in Boston and New York,” coach Derek Leader said. “It’s an exciting trip to kick-off conference play for us. These are two quality teams with we get to compete against right away.”

Georgia State will take on Northeastern at 6 p.m. Friday night and Hofstra at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Both matches will have live stats available on georgiastatesports.com.
