ATLANTA – Four Panthers were named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District 4 Team, the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America announced Thursday.

Seniors Ivie Drake and Brenna Skalski and juniors Reagan Morgan and Kristin Hawkins earned the honors.

Drake was the 2018 Sun Belt Player of the Year while maintaining a 3.91 GPA. Skalski started nearly 50 games for GSU this season with a 4.12 GPA. Morgan started every game and holds a 3.99 GPA as a Biological Sciences major. Hawkins is GSU’s starting third baseman and has earned a 4.06 GPA through her first three seasons.

The four selections in 2018 mark a new high for GSU. The Panthers put three players on the all-district team in 2017. Ivie Drake and Reagan Morgan were both honored a season ago and become the fifth and sixth Panthers in school history to receive the award twice.

Only one school in Division-I received more selections than Georgia State. Washington had five athletes honored on the All-District Team.

The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Baseball and Softball Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot, with first- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees to be announced in June.

The Google Cloud Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed here for baseball and softball, and are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and College Division.
