ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Georgia State men's tennis team defeated Oglethorpe 8-1 on Thursday. Sophomore Calvin Kemp improves to, 6-0, in singles play.
The Panthers improve to 3-0 all-time versus Oglethorpe with the victory. Georgia State had to play a nine-point format because they were playing on the road of a division three opponent.
"It is nice to be 5-1 on the season. We hope to get another road victory on Saturday against Tennessee Tech, said head coach Chase Hodges."
Senior William Adeimy defeated Lawrence Sweatman, 6-0, 6-2 to earn his first victory in singles play this season. Freshman Victor Valente continues his hot start to the season with his, 5-1, singles record.
The Panthers return to action on Saturday afternoon to take on Tennessee Tech in Cookville, Tn.
