ATLANTA- The Georgia State men’s soccer team will travel to Conway, S.C. to face Coastal Carolina in its final regular season match. GSU is 12-6 overall (3-1 Sun Belt) and on a five-game win-streak.

The Panthers are currently first in the conference standings with nine points, and will earn the regular season championship with a win over the Chanticleers. Georgia State has not won a men’s soccer regular season conference title since 2000 when the team was in the Atlantic Sun Conference.

Georgia State has dominated on the offensive side of the ball this season, outscoring its opponents 37-22. The team is ranked No. 11 in the NCAA for scoring offense and No. 6 in total goals, coming in first in the Sun Belt in both categories.

Sophomore Hannes Burmeister leads the team in goals, scoring 11 times this year. Burmeister is the only Panther to have goals in the doubles-digits. Sophomore Max Hemmings is second on the team with seven goals this season, including game-winners over Lipscomb and Howard.

The team jumped to a No. 49 RPI ranking, the highest RPI ranking in the Sun Belt, following two shutouts last week. GSU has shut out four teams in row, the first time for a four-game shutout-streak since 1984.

Coastal Carolina enters the weekend at second in the conference standings with seven points. CCU is 6-6-3 overall (2-1-1 Sun Belt) and on a one-game losing streak following a 3-1 loss at UCLA.

The Chanticleers hold a 6-2 series advantage over the Panthers, and the two teams have not faced each other since 2003.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in CCU Stadium. Live stats will be available at GeorgiaStateSports.com.
