ATLANTA- Georgia State men’s soccer student-athletes Hannes Burmeister and Yannic Horn were named Sun Belt Co-Offensive Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, as announced by the Sun Belt Tuesday afternoon.

Burmeister was also named Georgia State’s Student-Athlete of the Week for his efforts on the field for opening weekend. He scored two goals for Georgia State during opening weekend, including the game-winner over Mercer. Burmeister posted four shots with two on target for a .500 shot on goal percentage.

Horn led the team to two shutouts in the opening weekend for men’s soccer. Horn posted four saves for the Panthers this weekend, with three coming against Mercer.

The Gross-Zimmern, Germany native now has 8.5 shutouts for Georgia State, ranking seventh in program history for career shutouts.

The Panthers will return to the field on Friday against Louisville at 7 p.m.
